Do you feel like your health is getting better or worse? Do you think your day job has something to do with it? It would be a good bet to assume that your job affects your health.

In this talk, we explore ways to improve your mental and physical fitness at work, how to maintain a healthy work-life balance, and how to get your team involved in this health journey.

It is not uncommon to hear: “Sitting is the new smoking.” But what if I were to say that standing desks are not good for you either? Or that constant stress from development work is proven to be detrimental to your mental health?

Development is notoriously a brain-intensive work. When you combine it with a mostly sedentary lifestyle, it is clear how the job can negatively impact our health.

In this talk, we discuss how to incorporate physical and mental fitness practices into your daily routine. We explore active commutes, integrated work fitness, and meditation breaks so that we can enjoy the development craft without the adverse effects.
